More about this project

Past research suggests that doctors can sometimes find it hard to interpret the accuracy of diagnostic tests. IT Services R&D/ILRT are working with a research group based at the School of Social and Community Medicine, University of Bristol who are trying to find out whether the results of diagnostic research can be presented in better ways to help doctors. The project has developed an e-module which asks practitioners questions about their understanding of diagnostic tests that they may use in clinical practice. It also presents them with a clinical vignette and some data and asks you which you would use to aid your diagnosis and management. The project has also produced an educational tutorial to help practitioners understand more about the epidemiological aspects of diagnostics and which can be accredited for CP

This work is funded by the Medical Research Council.
